Afghan in Progress

As promised here is a progress check on my granny blanket. It has been slow going but that's mainly because i keep changing my mind. ive ended up settling on doing a couple different ones. i found an amazing blog called According to Matt who has given my so much inspiration. Check his blog out. you will be astounded !!!
this is some of the wool that is being used. 21 balls of it !! yikes !!
i started off planning to do all the squares first mainly because i wanted to take some cool pictures with them and plan where they where all going. this has since changed as its much easier ( and fun ) to do it all as im going.
the picture below is the blanket so far i haven't done loads but you can see it growing.
Please excuse the bad pictures. everything such as mess right now and the lighting in the games room isnt the best this time of day but i wanted to show you it asap.

ill show you again soon :)

A Quick Catch Up

Hello you lovely lot :) hope you are all well :)

My intention when i stated this blog was to post once a week. However that hasn't worked. And it wont be for a little while im sad to say. This is because some major changes in my life have had to happen. i shant be going in to details but due to a relationship breakdown im having to move house and im also trying to find another job. yep all at once. im sad to write this because i never thought i would have to. however im pleased to also say  that my now ex ( :( :( :( ) and me are still very good friends and he is as i keep saying the best ex a girl could hope for. hes been amazing as has his mum and my parents. they have helped me a lot.

but the upside to this is i get to have my own little flat. my own little  home of which im extremely excited about. i have never lived on my own and never thought i would. so this is going to be amazing !! i cant wait :)

this also means i can post pics of the flat as it progresses. but i wont have internet for a little bit which is why i wont be posting for a bit. but as soon as its up and running i will be !!! first job lol :) .

i am also moving away from beading so much. again this is a sad thing but happy at the same time as Ive found i love crochet. my afghan blanket is growing slowly but surely. i shall post a quick pic before i leave this home so you can see it.

i hope you don't find it odd me writing this but this blog is also to help me keep track of things and i wanted to explain a bit about what was happening.

and don't worry Frenzy will be coming with me :)

not that she really cares lol :) shes fine with whatever happens :)

much love

My ongoing projects cont.

Part 2 :)

i didnt realise how much i had done and hadnt shown anyone . oopsie lol .

Anther filled netting bangle this time with swarovski bicones and glass pearls. i don't normally use swarkovski because the local bead shop don't sell them and i actually prefer precosia but i was given these a long time ago and wanted to use them on something so i used them in this. It isnt my favorite one of these bangles but i think that's because its not as simple as the fire polished version and is quiet flexible.

This was my very first hugs and kisses bracelet done in hematite and blue bicones.
i entered a kumihimo challenge a while ago and it was my first time entering a competition type thing. i think i got one vote lol. the other pieces entered where so much nicer but i truly love this pendent the color is just so vibrant and stunning. it was also the first time i finished the ends with a cone style finding which meant using eye pins rather than the traditional simple glue on ends.
The pendant looks almost like a dragon scale hence why its on my game of thrones books. i took this piece in to show Amber (my boss) and she claimed it straight away. i think she liked it lol.
My army of beady birds wanted to be made into something so i popped one on to a keyring and this was the result.

This was another kumihimo bracelet but this time from a pattern by Pru Mcrae which you can find on her page at  http://prumihimo.com/blog/ i love her work and he patterns are so easy to read and she is so helpful as well.
i was asked to make a red and black version for a friend and this was the board as i was setting it up.
i made this version of the pendent which has no name ( i just realized this) a very long time ago and never showed it. this was for Amber's birthday present last year. she wears it every so often which pleases me no end lol.

Im sure there is loads that i still havent shown you but thats all for now. one day ill show you whats in my unfinished works box lol.

see you soon

My on going projects.

So i thought id show you what i have been up to scince i last posted way back in august. these are the finished ones. i may show you the ones that arent totally done as well but we shall see.

This is a filled netting bangle using myuiki seed beads and 6mm fire polished glass beads.
this has to be one of my absolute faves this year because it goes with everything and can be very casual or dressy.i may make a necklace to go with it but i haven't decided yet :).
im not overly sure on this one as its too light for my i like the darker sort of pieces but it still pulled together quiet well. this one uses jade gemstone and precosia bicones with a magnectic clasp.

Rumble decided he like this one and wanted to be in the picture. i was trying to take them in the back garden for the better lighting. am yet to try this again lol.

A pink version of the hugs and kisses bracelet. i prefer this one even tho i don't normally do pink.

Another favorite of mine. A three stranded kumihimo bracelet. Ive had several requests for one of these which surprised me to be honest i didn't think it was going to be all that popular simply because its so casual especially in these colors. But my boss and best friend immediately decided she wanted one for Xmas which i did (but as usual forgot to take a picture of so next time she wears it ill grab it and do it then) in all black with silver charms. My mum also decided she wants one but i haven't made that one yet. its on the list to do lol.

So that was some of what ive been up to i shall do another post to show you some others as well. maybe even some xmas pics :P

see you soon

A Quick Catch Up.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

So its been forever since i posted anything to you guys which is terrible. seriously I'm ashamed. sorry. But i have loads to tell you about so hopefully you will forgive me.

Firstly i hope you all had a fab Christmas and new year?? mine was brilliant :). I'm not really one for new year resolutions because i pretty soon forget and then they get broke then i try again and it keeps going on and on and then by day 3 i give up. i have very little to no self control. which really sucks to be honest. so this year Ive decided 3 things.

1) be better with money.  this isn't going well so far.

2) be a bit healthier. i hate diets and things like that because i simply don't like being told what i do need to do and what i should look like. I'm not a small person nor would i like to be overly skinny but i am seriously unfit. hence to just be healthier. this was decided last night so i shall let you know how that goes lol.

3) be more organized. i have a habit of letting things build up and not sorting them so i need to get that sorted and i think this will help with the other 2 as well. this includes finishing my sidelined projects as well.

In the time where i haven't been posting i have to admit i haven't been doing to much beading. i just haven't felt like it. And whilst this would be a huge problem if i was simply doing it to earn some money i really just do it to destress and the selling and people enjoying my work is a extremely welcome bonus. i love to see what others think about the stuff i make and to hear their ideas. esp if the don't do it themselves because they have such ideas that don't make sense. Brilliant.

i have however taught myself to crochet. it took a while with some stop starts to it but then i finally got it. the local £1 shop sells wool which isn't the best quality but it does for me whilst I'm learning and doesn't cost loads if i decided to give up. so there is less pressure for me to keep up with it which means i probably will lol. i shall post another entry with more on that later.

Sorry for the long ramblings but there we are.

see u next time :)
