Greeting my lovelies. hope you are all doing well.
Remember way back when ( in i think November time) i started my really really long scarf?? this was before i learnt to crochet and was the first time id picked up a pair of knitting needles in years. and well... it wont be happening again for a long time lol. Ive found i defiantly prefer crocheting. but i couldn't just not do anything with this scarf.
i had so many projects that were not being finished so i decided that i either finish them, turn them in to something else or scrap them. A few Beady ones did get scrapped unfortunately. but i turned the others in to something else. yeah you read right i didn't finish a single one lol.
so going back to the scarf i decided to turn it in to something else. i had also decided a long time ago that i wanted to make a bag. that was another project but i made it to big and it was turned in to a cat bed. Not that Frenzy will use it. she prefers my bed lol. As you can see ...
The scarf was made using moss stitch and ribbing stitches. the idea was it would end and start with the ribbing and have the moss in between. I never realized how boring i find using only the one color before. but yes it is very boring and wont be happening again for a while lol.
i signed the scarf of at a significant sizing for the bag and single crocheted around the edges, this is where it goes wonky. the ribbing stitch draws the fabric in where as the moss lies very flat and wide. This wouldn't have been a problem for the scarf but for the bag it was. As i was taking the pictures Frenzy decided she wanted to have a look and give me directions.
i used an old pair of trousers that where fraying and too small :( and cut the leg off to make the lining to help the bag keep its shape. I deliberately cut the fabric to big and the pinned and sewed it in.
this again went wonky due to my bad sewing skills.... and cutting of fabric skill lol :) paper and hair i can cut straight.. fabric no way lol
i then added a row of single crochet around the edges to join it all together and added the strap which is made up of six strand of chain stitches plaited together.
again this is wonky....
The bag is in no way perfect and i could have done a lot differently and better but it was a learning curve and when i make another one i will do it better. i haven't decided if im going to use it as a bag or a storage bag yet. to be honest im just glad something has been done with it.
so there we have it my wonkiest project ever. (yet). hope you like it or if not let me know what you think i should do with it or ways to improve it :)
much love jade and frenzy.
