Narcis Pendant

So for the last few weeks Ive been working on following this pattern from Beadwork Magazine. My first attemp went ok..ish . I want at all happy with it due to the slight improportions of one , maybe two of the petals, which of course have to be done seperatly then sewn togher in a certian way. Which takes forever. But is totally worth it.

This pattern calls for two colors of 11/0 seed beads, superduo beads and 3mm bicones. This was my first time using the superduos and I have to say im very impressed. I will definitely be using them more and trying the other two holed beads that are on the market now.

I chose to string this pendent on to a small linked silver chain and add a small silver bird charm, just to add a little bit of character to the piece. And the bird is super cute.
For more information or to purchase this piece, which is available in almost any color, visit my facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/beadingfrenzy13?ref=hl

My First Post

Ooo i do say isn't this exciting? im not much good with writing and do tend to struggle with it but at the same time i love it so this could be interesting. LOL.

I guess I should start by telling you a bit about me. My name is Jade Hiett. Sid is my nickname. Not that anyone uses it but I like it. Im a trainee hairdresser at BOS Hair Color Specialists in Burnham on sea somerset in the UK where I live. I also make handmade beaded jewellery.I live with my partner Alex and friends Lee and Ben. We have a cat Frenzy, who my company is named after due to the fact she will sit with me and stare at me if I stop beading at all for any reason, our Dog rumble who is a little on the large side due to being an Alaskan Malamute, and our guinea pig .. Hector yes his name is Hector. Everyone finds that odd. No idea why. But there you go. None of the animals very often respond to their names they just answer to cat pig and pup respectfully. My brothers Les and Will live local and I see them as often as possibly. As does my mother who I don't have much contact with. But i shan't go in to that its much to complicated. My father ,Bernie, sister Donna. nephews Danny and Aidan and grandmother and my step mum Chrissy .all live in Southampton which i about a hour and a half drive away.

My inspirations for my jewellery are relatively simple. I follow patterns most of the time or use a simple stitch to create my own piece bit I haven't got to creating my own patterns yet. Maybe one day. But not yet. It sounds daft but the rainbow colors really help me because sometimes a piece wont look right in one color and needs to be in another so that you can see the piece a bit better and everyone is different and everyone likes different colors so it is a great way to show the different colors i can use. I bead for a hobby mainly. I find it relaxing and its something i can concentrate on. Which very often isn't much. My partner Alex and his mum Claire help me a lot. They tell me when things don't look quiet right or help me pick which colors go with what.

Ive been beading for a very long time but when I was a kid my mother banned me from beading because I used to get the beads everywhere. Nothing much has changed. Its hard to keep track of them all. But then a local bead shop opened up in town about 5 years ago and that was it I was hooked again. All of the tubes up on the walls of all the different colors. Sometimes several different shades of the same color and all in different sizes. From the moment I walked into that shop I was hooked. That was it I wanted them . All of them. I didn't care what for I just wanted them. I still do that. I come across something so gorgeous that I just want it so I get it and them it is to nice to use. I still have a tube of 8/0 sead beads from that first visit that I haven't finished yet. I really should but the tube of S/L teal beads that are just mixed in with the rest I just look at and its one of those that I just think I need something special to do with that to show the color so much better. Maybe one day I shall find a way to do that. The ladies in the shop where so kind as well which was a big help to me. Margo taught me so much and most of the stitches I know I learnt from her which is something I will be forever grateful for. From then on I have always had tubes of beads somewhere. I went from being banned from beading to learning more and doing it in my room then when I got more serious to doling it in the dining room and then when I finally moved out in to my partners house I was granted my own space to do it. Where ever I want to. Which to me is amazing. I now have my own desk with my computer and book case and tons of nooks and cranny's where my precious beads are stored.

This post is longer than I thought it would be but oh well. So that's me. Hello.
